My Favorite Books of 2016

Hi everyone

Last year, I got asked about my favorite books of 2015 so I wanted to come up with a list of my most loved books in 2016 too.
I made it easier on myself by adding star ratings to my reviews and that’s why I made two lists for you.

Here are my all 5-star books I read in 2016.

Wrap Up: 2016

Hi everyone

Happy New Year!
I hope 2017 will bring you as much or even more reading pleasure as 2016 did.

Here is the list (with links to the reviews) of all the books I read in 2016.
I had a lot of fun taking the pictures at the end of this post and it was the perfect time to give my shelves a good, thorough clean too. Great way to end the year! Rearranging books and then spending a lovely evening with friends.

In the end, I read a total of 50.433 pages in 126 books last year.
That’s exactly 400 pages per book and 138 pages per day.
I think I can safely say I surpassed my own expectations and I crushed my 2015 Wrap Up.

Wrap Up: December 2016

Hi everyone

Time for another Wrap Up!
December has gone by so incredibly fast I can’t believe it. And January will be even worse with both my husband’s and my birthday.
Enough with the chatter, here are the books I read last month.

I read a total of 3921 pages. That’s 381 pages per book or 160 pages per day.
But I did cheat a bit there. The poetry book was read over the last 6 months.

Wrap Up: November 2016

Hi everyone

It’s time for my monthly Wrap Up again! Time flies and I can’t believe we’re nearing the end of the year.
I had a great reading month page-wise but I did read quite a few books I didn’t particularly enjoy.
In November, I read 4590 pages. That’s 153 pages per day and 328 per book.

Wrap Up: October 2016

Hi everyone

October was a great month. I read a lot of books and I’ve no idea how I managed that with my awfully busy schedule in October.
Actually I do, I'm a very bad sleeper and this month was worse than usual.
Aside from that, I’m very happy with another milestone; my blog reached 30.000 views! I still can’t quite believe it. Thank you so much!

I read 14 books for a total of 4883 pages. That’s 349 pages per book and 157 every day.

Wrap Up: September 2016

Hi

I had a brilliant reading month and I can’t believe I read so much.
We’ve been having good weather in Belgium and it was so nice to sit outside with a book and enjoy the last few days of sunshine and warm weather.

I read 5187 pages in September, that’s 173 pages per day and 346 pages per book.

Wrap Up: July 2016

Hi everyone

July was a rather slow reading month.
I had the last two weeks off but my husband and I spent it (aside from 4 days in Amsterdam with the whole family) working in and around the house.
My reading was slower too because I didn’t feel so well and when I’m blue, reading is one of the things that suffers, especially when I’m reading big, slow classics. My choices for July weren’t smart I’m afraid.
I have planned quite a few fun books for August so I hope I’ll read more this month.

In July, I read 2385 pages in 4 books, that’s 596 pages per book and 76 pages every day.

Wrap Up: June 2016

Hi everyone

June was a pretty good reading month considering how busy I’ve been.

But I overdid myself; I put too much pressure on my reading and reviewing this month. I haven’t been feeling very well, I’m excessively tired and it’s starting to reflect on my reading.

I will be reading and reviewing, I just can’t say how much. It all depends on how I’m feeling and how we are progressing around the house with everything we’ve planned this summer.

And now for the fun part.
In June I read a total of 4158 pages. That’s 416 pages per book or 139 every day.

I’m very happy with the amount of books I managed to read. And I read a few absolutely great books.

Wrap Up: March 2016

Hi everyone

Per monthly tradition it’s now time for my Wrap Up.
It has been a very busy month. I started a new job and my husband and I went to Valencia on holiday.
March was great!

I read a total of 3827 pages in 9 books. That’s 425 pages per book or 123 pages every day.

Wrap Up: February 2016

Hi everyone

I didn’t read as much as last month.
My husband and I started watching Vikings at the beginning of February. By the end of the month we had seen every episode and I had spent a lot of time watching television instead of reading.
It happens once in a while.

I read 9 books in February for a total of 3295 pages. That’s 366 pages per book or 114 pages per day. I think that’s pretty good considering the amount of hours I spent watching television. My weekends were very relaxed and we didn’t have a lot of obligations so that made the reading happen.

Wrap Up: January 2016

Hi everyone

January was a great reading month. I got through quite a few books and not all bad ones too.

Unfortunately I did choose my first book of 2016 rather unwisely and I will pick a reread from now on for my first book of the year.

I read seven books for a total of 4134 pages. That's 590 pages per book and 133 pages per day.

I made a great start on my 2016 Reading Goals by reading the first Harry Potter and a Wheel of Time novel.
